‘The Curated City – A Study of Perth’ – a cultural planner, film maker and architect looks at the city. Our practice’s area of focus was the built environment for which we adopted Geddes’s working methods for reading a city; survey, analysis and plan. Having based our team at the Fair Maid’s House we operated an open door policy for the public to engage with the study on a daily basis. Our observations and conclusions were presented to the public and officials in an exhibition and supporting lecture. The study findings influenced other projects such as a self directed proposal for Perth City Hall, 5 Melville Street, Perth and other self build design proposals emerging from our ongoing involvement with Charrettes.
